Scottish Taxi

Privacy policy

Last updated August 13, 2026

This policy explains what we do with the personal information you give us when you enquire about or book a tour. We are based in Edinburgh, so UK GDPR applies to everything below.

Who we are

Scottish Taxi provides private sightseeing tours and airport transfers in Scotland. We are the data controller for the information described here. To ask anything about your data, or to make any of the requests below, email Edinburgh.taxitour@gmail.com or message us on either of the numbers in the footer.

What we collect

When you book or ask for a price we collect your name, email address and phone number, the date and passenger count for your trip, your pickup address, and anything you choose to write in the notes or in a bespoke request. If you give us flight details for an airport transfer we collect the flight number, terminal and arrival or departure time. That is all. We do not ask for your date of birth, passport or ID number, and we do not store payment card details on this site.

Why we collect it, and our lawful basis

We use your contact details and trip details to arrange and carry out the journey you asked for, and to reach you about it. Our lawful basis for a booking is performance of a contract with you. For a general enquiry, it is our legitimate interest in answering you. Flight details are collected solely to meet you at the right place and time, and are not used for anything else.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your information and we do not share it for advertising. We use an email delivery provider to send you booking and quote emails, which means your email address and the contents of that email pass through them. Our website hosting provider processes the data needed to run the site. If a partner referred you with a discount code, they can see the booking reference and the amount discounted — never your name, email, phone number or address.

How long we keep it

We keep booking records for as long as we need them to run the business and to meet our tax and accounting obligations, then delete or anonymise them. General enquiries that do not become bookings are deleted once they have been dealt with.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, ask us to delete it, ask us to restrict how we use it, object to our using it, or ask for it in a portable form. You can also withdraw consent for anything you consented to, at any time. Email us and we will respond within one month. Where a record is still needed for accounting we will anonymise it rather than delete it outright.

Cookies

The site sets only the cookies it needs to work unless you tell us otherwise. Our cookie policy explains each one and lets you change your choice at any time.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we use your information we will update this page and the date at the top of it. Where the change affects cookies, you will be asked for your choice again.
